What model should we go for?
A way to RP
How should we RP?
Ive been on a few other sites... well three, and they each have their own rules regarding how you are suppose to RP. Ofcourse you RP the same way, by typing your actions etc, but how do we travel, what are the rules of posting? I have three examples, and we might even invent one ourself. So all in all this is more a discussion than a suggestion.
First way: In Character
This is the most real way to RP. whereever you can go theres is made a topic, unless its your own house, but for all the mainplaces there is a thread. You then walk between those places, so if i am at the great hall, talking to someone, and want to go to the pond, i have to write ((EXIT to The Pond)) at the bottom, and saying something about me walking towards the pond. There is only one Pond, so anyone who is at that place will be able to see my conversation, i can state that me and my pal walked a bit away from the others, but that place is the place where we are, and anyone else who is there is there too... obvious -.-
The good side is that it tends to make everything more real, and whatever you do effects everybody, if i have a fight, and someone else is at that place, or nearby, they will see/hear it, and migh join in,and it makes the whole site to one big story.
The bad side is that it ties you to one spot. This struccture is dependant on active players. Effects everyone, if one goes mad, and starts shooting at everybody, he will, and you cant go "Hey! this conversation is privat!"
Second way: The active
This way you can be whereever you want. You smply make a toppic called: "I am standing by the pond" another may join, and you make your RP from there. This doesnt affect anyone else, so you can feel free to beat up a group of dementors. You can be in several toppics at time, the limit is set by the site. Many asks "If it effects nothing, do i have to start all over again every time i make a new thread?" No. The toppic you make first rules the next and so on. For exampel: I meet Guest in thread A, makes a new thread , where Guest also joins. Then i allready know Guest from thread A, makes any sense?
Good things: Theres allways a place and time for an RP. You are able to do whatever you want, you can make your own story and life, without having to take mesurements of other things going on.
Bad things: No plot will never really take place on the site. If an evil wizard attacks the school, many can simply ignore it while the ones who are in the main plot have to do it all by themselves, a more devided site.
so pick at the pole, your vote chooses the way the whole site is shaped

To throw in my two cents, I am going with option 1. It seems to make more sense to have one topic. That way you can have more involved rping and a plotline.

Re: A way to RP
Vote closed, and topic closed, for the way of RPing has been decided:
In the Common Rooms, and Dorms, there will be only one thread. In other places, as many threads as you want can be made.

Re: A way to RP
What about classrooms or small areas where it would be harder to have multiple threads?

In classrooms there will be one thread, opened by the teacher, for one lesson. When the lesson is over, the topic will be locked.
In small areas, there will only be one Topic as well. The one exception to this is "School Supply Shopping"
